In 2020, AACS Consulting conducted an extensive survey for BBC Media Action on its “Open Jirga” program that targets urban and rural Afghan audiences. The Open Jirga is a popular debate show broadcast on BBC radio and multiple Afghan TV and radio outlets. As part of the sampling strategy, 2,500 respondents were selected from 20 provinces and 40 districts across five regions of Afghanistan. The surveys were conducted using the Computer-assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) survey model offered by AACS Consulting.

For the latter survey, AACS Consulting considered a sample size of nearly 5,000 respondents across 34 provinces in all five regions. In conducting this study, AACS Consulting used Random Digit Dialing (RDD) survey method as well as social media groups to facilitate reception and feedback from select respondents who listened to and watched certain media programming segments presented to them for testing purposes.
