The agricultural sector is under increasing pressure to enhance agricultural productivity at an exceptional rate. This challenges the capacity of extension workers, farmers, farming systems, and even the environment. In the absence of best practices, farmers use low-quality agricultural inputs. Strengthening local capacities and institutions remains a major challenge for the effective design and implementation of agricultural programs. Farmers live in rural areas and depend directly or indirectly on agriculture for their livelihoods.
Our productivity enhancement activities provide farmers with training and access to low-cost techniques, quality inputs, and capacity-building services to effectively use these yield-enhancing solutions. The major areas include agribusinesses, farmer organizations, conservation services, extension services, and agricultural education. AACS Consulting’s capacity building in the food, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors chiefly addresses establishing or strengthening formal (government) and informal (NGOs, cooperatives, etc.) institutions, the private sector, and individuals.
