We are seeking for an experienced and talented Agriculture Research Specialist – Consultant to join our team.
The Agriculture Research Specialist will provide expert advice, lead research initiatives, and support Adroit Associates' clients in enhancing their agricultural practices. The specialist will also play a pivotal role in monitoring, evaluating, and learning (MEL) from various projects, ensuring their efficacy and impact. This role requires adept project management skills to ensure timely and successful deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Consultation:
- Collaborate with clients to identify challenges and areas of improvement in their agricultural processes.
- Advise clients on best practices, emerging agricultural technologies, and sustainable farming methods.
Project Management:
- Lead project planning, execution, and closure phases.
- Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Manage risks and address potential challenges proactively.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL):
- Design and implement MEL frameworks for agricultural projects.
- Continuously monitor project progress against set objectives and targets.
- Evaluate project outcomes to determine their impact and effectiveness.
- Document learnings and insights to inform future projects and strategies.
Research and Analysis:
- Conduct targeted research based on client needs to evaluate and recommend effective agricultural techniques, products, or technologies.
- Analyze relevant data (if needed from client side) to provide informed recommendations.
- Conduct agriculture value chains analysis and provide recommendations for improvement.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Gather and interpret data from clients, providing actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Present findings in detailed reports, ensuring clients understand the implications and suggested actions.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as a bridge between clients and Adroit Associates, ensuring seamless communication and project execution.
- Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and research in the field of agriculture.
- Share knowledge with Adroit Associates and clients, ensuring the application of cutting-edge practices.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Master's degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, or a related field. A Ph.D. is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural research, consultancy, or a related role.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information to non-experts.
- Experience in post-harvest management Required.
- Experience in agribusiness.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to various client locations in Afghanistan.
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments.
